About the owner, Laura Blanton

Laura's History

I have had a love for animals and been surrounded by them my entire life. My extensive animal experience is what I believe sets me apart from many other pet sitting companies. In addition to working as a Veterinary Technician for many years, I am back to working for the Georgia Department of Agriculture.

My animal history includes:

  • showing hunter/jumpers (horses) for 15 years
  • taught riding lessons for about 4 years
  • currently show Cardigan Welsh Corgis in conformation, agility and obedience
  • was a vet tech for 8 years
  • certified in PetTech First Aid and CPR
  • work for the Georgia Department of Agriculture
  • was the general manager of a boarding kennel in Buckhead
  • currently serve as the Regional Rescue Director for Alabama, Georgia and Mississippi for the Cardigan Welsh Corgi Club of America's Rescue Committee
  • have owned dogs, cats, fish, horses, birds, reptiles and have care knowledge of many exotics and small livestock herds
  • currently own dogs, cats, snakes, a spider and a bearded dragon
  • have extensive experience with special needs pets such as diabetics and those pets requiring fluids
  • served as a Vet Tech with Noah's Wish in Slidell, LA assisting hurricane Katrina's animal victims in a shelter with almost 1,000 animals in September, 2005
  • am a member of the Cardigan Welsh Corgi Club of America and am a past member of Lake Lanier Obedience Club
  • co-founder of North Georgia Alliance of Professional Pet Sitters, NGAPPS

My vet background helps me to know if your animal has a medical problem that needs attention. I also have around the clock access to veterinarians to assess any problems that may come up for your animal. My training background helps me deal with pets in many different situations. And my deep devotion to animals helps me to provide tender, loving care to animals of all kinds. I am so excited to now be pet sitting full time to cater to your pets' every need!

Scott Blanton

Scott is Laura's wonderful husband and he has years of animal experience. Scott was raised with dogs, cats and reptiles and currently assists Laura with the showing of their dogs. Scott also taught riding lessons and has experience in Western riding. He is experienced in giving medications and knows the signs to look for with serious illnesses in animals. Currently Scott is the Internet Marketing Manager for a restaurant supply company in Atlanta. Scott will be doing most of the overnight visits for All Pets and some daily vacation visits.

Pet sitting is not our hobby, it is our business and we take the care of your pets very seriously! All animals will receive the top quality care and All Pets clients feel totally comfortable leaving their animals and home in our charge. With our vast experience, special needs pets are always welcome and pet owners can rest assured knowing their animal will recieve its medication on time, every time!

Animals Accepted by All Pets
llamas and alpacadogs

Just about all animals are accepted by All Pets. We will care for the following animals:

  • all dogs and cats
  • birds
  • non-venomous reptiles
  • rodents
  • fresh water fish
  • small animals such as rabbits and chinchillas
  • domestic skunks
  • ferrets
  • most legal exotics
  • aquatic life

If your pet is not on our list, please contact us to see if we can make arrangements to care for your special friend. No Salt water or coral tanks accepted. These type of tanks require specialized knowledge that I do not have and we would strongly encourage anyone with a salt or coral tank to seek out specialists to care for your tanks.

I do not have the proper qualifications or experience to watch any venomous animal, bear or large cat. People with multiple animals will be quoted a price after a consultation. We are experienced in administering medication and giving injections and will watch for possible signs of illness in your pets. Special needs pets such as diabetics are always welcome.

During the first meeting

During the first meeting, we will go over your animal's routine and what you need done during your trip. You will fill out paperwork and give us any needed information about your house and animals during this visit. This visit usually takes between 45-90 minutes. It is very important that you are totally honest about all of your pets during this meeting. If your animal has any quirks or fears, it is very important we know about them up front. We also need to know about all of the animals you own/feed, including outdoor animals. We are able to deal with a wide variety of temperaments so please let me know if your animal has bitten anyone or is prone to fight other animals.

However, please be aware that is you mis-represent your animals or if we determine pet sitting is not appropriate for your animal after you have left (many reasons like not totally house trained, distructive, aggressive or serious seperation issues) we will contact you and bring your animal to the boarding kennel of your choice. The visits not used will be refunded to you minus transportation fees.

Laura typically meets with all new clients during the meet and greet but please understand that both Laura and Scott will do visits for your animals.
